Architecture
Tempus. The latin word for time. Time, the currency of our generation, and generations to follow. Tempus, the Turner Copperstones have been designed to optimise time, both by architectural intent and location. These homes are designed to enjoy the time spent in them, but are measured by time saved when venturing out. Tempus, the Turner Copperstones, draws inspiration from the classic Brownstone townhouses of New York City. All Tempus townhomes feature spacious basement spaces with natural light. An archetypal feature of the Brownstone, whereby a street-side staircase welcomes a raised ground level, allowing light to seep through the sub-ground — a detail lacking in so many other terrace typology’s.

Façade Features

“Tempus represents the introduction of a terrace typology for the Canberra housing market akin to the much adored examples of terrace housing in London or New York. The façades are purposefully not ornamented with decoration. Instead, they are classically proportioned and feature enduring materials such as face-brick and copper cladding.”

Interiors
The interiors respond to the brief of being unpretentious, restrained and timeless. The spaces have a modern feel created through a strong contemporary materials palette and clean simple lines. With the scale and depth of these townhouses reminiscent of UK & New York terraces architecturally the approach was to have spaces which were more open and flexible. Consequently the kitchen and joinery in the living spaces is highly integrated, adaptable and refined. Polished concrete flooring is the strong ground floor foundation which has an integrity and ‘envelop’ approach, leaving the style and overall living to the owners. A light and dark scheme offer a style choice for the bold or minimal.Bathrooms are extremely functional with family living in mind however the warmth and drama of the finishes create a strong sense of luxury.

Residences
Tempus required special attention and consideration to ensure it paid homage to the suburb’s natural elements. Protecting the existing landscape of 60 year old trees and established hedging whilst complimenting the natural environs with a timeless design is the express intent of Tempus. These homes will sit proud of the ground level allowing a New York Brownstones effect with window glazing at the front of every dwelling in the basement garage level. Open space on the ground floor oozes luxury and refinement. Many months of collaborative work conceived the seamless and subtle details that achieved uninterrupted living from the traditional garden front door entry right through to the beautifully paved courtyard at the rear. Generous and carefully curated spaces with complimentary interior design on the ground floor and floors above complete the residences. This level of detail makes the architectural and interior designed spaces homely, desirable and importantly, timeless for the next 60 years and beyond.

Our commitment to a quality build
It’s in the walls where all the magic happens. We believe it is this invisible element of the build that will provide you with the most comfort in the years to come. A thoughtful, coordinated approach is required when crafting exterior spaces that blend in perfect harmony with the materials and colours selected internally. This will elevate the quality of any build. Its the extra, often unseen step, that makes the biggest difference to living comfortably and peacefully with your neighbours and dare we say it, the people you live with. This can only be achieved by demanding a construction methodology that utilises products that provide the best acoustic, insulated and fire rated properties available. A structurally sound, insulated concrete wall will separate you from your neighbours. This extends from the basement floor right up to the ceiling of Level 1.

Location
A location where time seems to stand still. Forbes St, an avenue of mature oaks form a natural canopy that gently encompasses the road, casting dappled light onto the streetscapes in one of Canberra’s original suburbs. David St, defining Turner’s Northern border, scribes a deliberate line from Black Mountain to its south and Mt Majura to its north. The apex of these two grand Turner streets creates a location that allows time to stand still. Tempus is born from established blocks with established hedging and trees. The majority of which will be protected, nurtured, and enhanced to ensure the grounds of Tempus retain the romantic appeal of the original landscaping. Add to this a communal garden of almost 400 square metres to the rear of the residences, Tempus is designed to inherit Turner’s garden suburb mantle with gusto.

Lifestyle

Tempus – A Location where convenience and Time go hand in Hand with good coffee.
Time defines our existence. Everything we do is measured by it. Tempus allows you to squeeze every last drop out of your time to get every little pleasure out of life. Tempus is only minutes from Canberra’s restaurant & leisure mecca of Braddon, minutes from the City, and even closer to the local cafe culture of nearby Lyneham or O’Connor shops, which have offerings that rival any in Canberra. Your life is defined by the time you spend doing the things you love. Spend less time getting to them, and more time doing them.
